Retroid unexpectedly expands Duo lineup with new Lite Plus handheld

Retroid isn’t finished expanding its dual-screen lineup just yet. Less than two weeks after introducing the Pocket Duo and Pocket Duo Lite, the company has announced another model, the Pocket Duo Lite Plus, or Pocket Duo Lite+.
Positioned between the existing models, the new handheld keeps the same design as the Pocket Duo Lite but upgrades several key components. Retroid says the device was created in response to feedback from customers following the Pocket Duo Lite’s launch.
The biggest change is inside the system. While the Pocket Duo Lite uses Qualcomm’s Dragonwing QCS6125, an IoT version of the Snapdragon 665, the Lite Plus swaps it for the Qualcomm Dragonwing Q-7790, which is based on the considerably newer Snapdragon 7 Gen 4.
Retroid pairs the processor with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. That’s a step up from the Pocket Duo Lite, which is available in either 4GB RAM with 64GB storage or 6GB RAM with 128GB storage configurations. The Lite Plus also brings several other upgrades. It supports 27W fast charging, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, and DisplayPort output, with the latter capable of driving a 4K display at 60Hz. The handheld also ships with Android 16, giving it a newer software platform than the Lite.
The Pocket Duo Lite Plus is now available for preorder in 16 Bit, Black, Clear Purple, GC, and Ice Blue. Its regular price is $219 / €188 / £162 , although Retroid is offering an introductory discount that brings it down to $199 / €171 / £147 with the code LITEPLUS. The promotional price is available until October 31, 2026, while shipments are scheduled to begin in mid-November.
At $199, the Lite Plus also lands just $10 above the 12GB version of Retroid’s Pocket Flip 2, which recently received a permanent price reduction to $189. The Flip 2 offers more RAM and an AMOLED display, but the new dual-screen model counters with a newer and more powerful processor, two displays, a larger battery, faster charging, and Android 16.
For buyers deciding between the two, the choice ultimately comes down to whether the Pocket Duo Lite Plus’s dual-screen design and newer hardware are more appealing than the Pocket Flip 2’s AMOLED panel and additional memory.
