Titled Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story, the true-story inspired drama follows the titular New England woman who became the subject of a high-profile trial when she was charged with the brutal axe murder of her father and stepmother in 1892.
Ella Beauty steps into the role of Lizzie Borden, who was eventually acquitted, while Charlie Hunnam (Monster: The Ed Gein Story, Sons of Anarchy) plays Lizzie’s father, Andrew Borden, and Rebecca Hall (Christine, Passing) portrays stepmother Abby Borden.
As usual, Ryan has assembled an impressive cast, including Emmy winner and Ryan’s frequent collaborator Sarah Paulson, and American Horror Story actress Billie Lourd.
Given the TV producer’s long history of twisted, compelling thrillers, it’s no surprise that audiences are binge-watching the show in one sitting.
