The mega popularRoblox horror game 99 Nights in the Forestis getting a live action movie at 20th Century Studios, and we’ve learned thatSam Raimi is on board as producer.
The Hollywood Reporter also lets us know this afternoon that Josh Cooley (Toy Story 4, Transformers One) will be writing the live action movie adaptation for 20th Century Studios.
THR details in their exclusive report, “While the rights were picked up clean and without attachments, the project now has horror legend Sam Raimi and frequent producing partner Rob Tapert on board as producers. The game’s developers — Alec Kieft, Matthew Hufton and Cameron Angland of Grandma’s New Zealand-based Favourite Games — are executive producing.”
Romel Adam(Evil Dead Rise) and Jose Cañas(Play Dead) will also exec produce.
In the action-survival game, players must build a camp in a haunted forest to rescue four missing children while fending off a monstrous deer, its cultists, and other killer beasts.
99 Nights in the Forest launched just last year but has already become the the seventh-most-played game of all time on Roblox, “boasting nearly 26 billion lifetime visits”
