D23 has come and gone without any news about Disneyland’s new Star Wars attraction. But Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge , an existing attraction at Disneyland and Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, will feature some familiar faces. Thousand Eagle: Smuggler’s Run will include a new mission featuring The Mandalorian and Grogu.
Lucasfilm creative executive Dave Filoni took the stage at the Disney Experience panel at D23 to announce the news. Filoni noted that Epic Games’ Unreal Engine, which already helped Lucasfilm create The Mandalorian with a virtual set called The Volume, will be used to bring Din Djarin to life. ) and his adopted son Grogu are integrated into Smuggler’s Run.
