The best spring crops in Stardew Valley

Each season, most of your time in Stardew Valley will be spent growing crops on the farm. The spring crop selection is limited compared to summer and fall, in part because Pierre’s doesn’t carry one of the best crops. That said, even among the crops available in Pierre’s shop, some are more valuable than others.

Strawberries are a valuable crop, but obtaining seeds can make growing them in the spring difficult.
Strawberries are a valuable crop, but obtaining seeds can make growing them in the spring difficult.

The best spring crop is definitely strawberries, but they can only be purchased during the Spring Egg Festival on the 13th. Crops such as coffee beans are profitable, but only if you have enough barrels to convert them into coffee, as is unground rice.

While it’s tempting to maximize profits and grow only the most valuable crops, there are some other factors to consider. First, if you are trying to complete the Community Center bundle, you will need to grow several different spring crops in order to complete the Spring Crops bundle. Additionally, if you want a more stable income, you may want to plant some crops that grow faster. Cauliflower is probably the most profitable, but it takes 12 days to grow, so you only get two big paydays in the spring.

    More Stardew Valley guides:

Speaking of strawberries, you can plant them as soon as you get them from the Egg Festival, but since these crops last all season and continue to produce strawberries, it’s more worth saving them for next spring or in the greenhouse. Pierre’s Store is closed every Wednesday, so if your fields are to be harvested that day, try to plan ahead and buy your seeds early. Joja Mart is open every Wednesday, but seeds are more expensive there.

Below you’ll find a table with each spring crop, how much its seeds cost, how long it takes to harvest, and how much they sell for. None of these numbers include potential benefits, such as faster growth times or better sales prices. Seed costs are based on Pierre’s store unless noted they are from a different supplier.
