The makers of Hanuman Ansh have denied reports claiming that the devotional drama has secured a Rs 100 crore OTT deal. Producer Ragini Sona has dismissed the reports as rumours, maintaining that the team is currently focused on the film’s theatrical run and audience response.

Directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, Hanuman Anshis based on the life and teachings of Neem Karoli Baba. The film has emerged as an unexpected success at the box office, with its theatrical performance gaining momentum several weeks after its release.

Producer deny claims of Rs 100 cr OTT deal

Speaking to NDTV, Sona said the team had not finalised any OTT deal and urged audiences to ignore reports about a supposed Rs 100 crore digital offer. “It’s nothing like that. It’s all rumours. Please don’t pay attention to it,” she said, adding that the makers are more interested in how many people are watching the film in theatres.

Sona further stressed that the team does not want to shift focus away from the theatrical experience. She said the audience itself has been promoting the film through word of mouth and attributed its success to the blessings of Neem Karoli Baba.

The producer also clarified that any decision regarding the film’s digital release will be taken collectively by the team and announced officially. She added that even the makers are unaware of when Hanuman Ansh will eventually premiere on an OTT platform.

The clarification comes after director-producerVishal Chaturvedi previously revealedthat the project had faced rejection from an OTT platform before its theatrical release. According to him, the response to his pitch strengthened his resolve to bring the story of Neem Karoli Baba to the big screen.

Chaturvedi had said that the manner in which the project was rejected did not sit well with him. Rather than discouraging him, the experience made him more determined to tell the story and challenge what he felt was a limited perception of India’s saintly traditions.

Meanwhile, Hanuman Ansh continues to record a strong theatrical run. The film has entered the Rs 200-crore club worldwide despite reportedly being made on a budget of around Rs 2 crore.

The film’s box office trajectory has been particularly unusual. After opening to just Rs 10 lakh on its first day and collecting Rs 1.48 crore in its first two weeks, it gained momentum through strong word of mouth. Its fourth week brought in Rs 61 crore, followed by Rs 90 crore in the fifth week.

All about the film’s box office collection

According to Sacnilk figures cited by India Today, the film recorded Rs 10.50 crore on its 36th day, marking its highest single-day Friday collection. Its domestic nett collection stood at Rs 175.88 crore, while its worldwide gross reached Rs 207.81 crore.
