Gaming platform Roblox has announced a sweeping series of updates which will reportedly allow users to develop standalone games for other platforms, play offline, play using only their browser and build AI-generated games with just a prompt.
At its 12th annual Roblox Developers Conference (RDC), the platform said Roblox Everywhere will give users the option to make their games available as standalone apps across mobile, PC, and consoles, with Roblox powering the technology and services underneath.
Roblox also promised that players will be able to join games, without installing the Roblox app. Users will reportedly be able to share links, which will allow anyone on the web to log in and play. The feature is pegged for the end of 2026, with support for browsers other than Chrome to be added at a later date
Users will reportedly also get new features that will allow them to keep playing offline, even if they are struggling with patchy internet, and combine online and offline modes. The offline feature is pegged for mid-2027, with early access coming sooner.
In addition, Roblox announced plans to expand the public alpha of Build, a tab in the Roblox app that lets anyone create and publish a game just by prompting, to more countries.
Users in Serbia and Singapore will now be able to test the Build tab, following the initial launch in New Zealand this June.
The platform also announced several new features that will help creators on the platform manage their finances: a standalone Roblox Wallet for US-based creators, and Roblox Card, a branded debit card that will allow users to spend their earnings. The card is pegged to land in 2027.
