Roblox offline play is coming alongside browser play and prompt-based game creation as the platform expands beyond the app that has contained its games for 20 years. Players will be able to launch a game from its Experience Details Page in Chrome by the end of 2026, without installing the Roblox app.

Gaming platform Roblox has announced a sweeping series of updates which will reportedly allow users to develop standalone games for other platforms, play offline, play using only their browser and build AI-generated games with just a prompt.

Roblox is making it easier to access games on its platform. At the annual Roblox Developers Conference, the company has announced that it will launch browser-based gaming by the end of 2026. Fortnite went offline early Thursday as Epic Games began scheduled maintenance for the v42.00 update, which launches Chapter 7 Season 4: Override. Servers were expected to return around 7 a.m. ET, although the timing could change as maintenance continued.

Fortnite developer Epic Games is taking the game offline for server maintenance alongside the release of update 41.30. The latest period of server downtime kicks off at 9am BST UK time on the morning of July 30, which means all game modes will be unplayable for a few hours.
