Nintendo is giving its Switch 2 the collector’s treatment with a special-edition console inspired by The Legend of Zelda. The limited-edition Zelda Switch 2 has opened for preorders ahead of its Oct. 29 release. Limited-edition Nintendo hardware has a history of selling out quickly, as is the case with this one. The special edition is currently out of stock everywhere, but we’re keeping an eye on any future availability. So check back often, as we’ll keep this list updated with any new deals.
Along with an eye-catching black-and-gold design, it includes the same upgraded hardware found in the standard Switch 2. If you’ve been waiting for a reason to upgrade your Switch, this collector’s edition might be it.
The 40th Anniversary edition is listed at Best Buy for $520. While there are no discounts, we still recommend grabbing it while you can, as it may sell out soon after it becomes available. Just keep in mind that you will need a Best Buy account to purchase when the time comes.

Like other retailers on this list, Amazon’s availability fluctuates. We’ve seen it come and go, so it’s definitely worth wishlisting and keeping an eye on restocks. Several shoppers have reported grabbing the console at Amazon intermittently on Sept. 10, so it’s worth checking frequently to catch it while it’s in stock.

What do you get with the special edition purchase?
The Nintendo Switch 2: The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition is one of the most striking special-edition consoles Nintendo has released. It has a custom black-and-gold finish, plus it features Triforce-inspired artwork across the dock, console and Joy-Con 2 controllers. Underneath the themed design, you’re getting the same upgraded Switch 2 hardware, including a vivid display, faster performance and support for up to 4K output when docked with compatible games and TVs.
The system comes with the matching dock and themed Joy-Con 2 controllers, though the game itself is sold separately. At $520, it costs more than the standard console, but the exclusive design makes it an appealing option for Zelda fans and collectors alike.
