Since 2010, AMC has maintained a consistent track record of delivering new The Walking Dead content on a yearly basis. While the total number of episodes released in recent memory has been lower, the streak remains intact thanks to The Walking Dead: Dead City season 3, and it will be extended into 2027 with the release of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixonseason 4. However, nothing compares to the good old days of seeing all of these survivors interacting with each other on the same show for hours and hours without end.

Fortunately, there’s still a way to watch these beloved actors continuously take over the screen, and it is thanks to their appearances in iconic video games. So without further ado, it’s time to break down four major titles in which The Walking Dead cast has absolutely stolen the spotlight and the roles they play.

    1. Death Stranding

Whenever Hideo Kojima releases a video game, you can always expect unprecedented levels of craziness mixed with intriguing new mechanics and a mind-bending story. Fortunately, Death Stranding is no different. This video game franchise stars Norman Reedus—better known for playing Daryl Dixon in TWD—as Sam Porter Bridges, a man who dedicates himself to delivering packages and “connecting” different settlements after a cataclysmic event known as the Death Stranding left everyone completely isolated from the outside world.

As Sam, you’ll have to traverse entire countries under increasingly harsh conditions while trying to keep the packages you’re carrying in the most pristine condition. This is one of those video games that may have a slow start, but once it hits, you’ll be glued to the screen trying to uncover everything it has to offer. As Sam, you’ll fight the dead, defy the normal passing of time, and meet all sorts of wacky but intriguing characters along the way. If you’re looking for a game that will keep you entertained for dozens of hours, then Death Stranding is definitely the perfect choice.

    2. Dead by Daylight

Part of the reason why watching The Walking Dead is so thrilling is not knowing whether one of your favorite post-apocalyptic survivors will make it out alive after the dust has settled. Well, that exact same feeling is recreated when playing Dead by Daylight, except you are the one in control of the fate of these characters. That’s why it was very fitting that the two iconic franchises had a collaboration back in 2025.

Dead by Daylight now has a The Walking Dead DLC that added a new map in the form of the Prison Tower and also introduced two new playable characters: Rick Grimes and Michonne. Interestingly, Andrew Lincoln reprises his role as Rick in the game by fully voicing the character. In a similar fashion, Lauren Cohan voices the character of Maggie Rhee in the game, who appears as a legendary outfit available for Michonne.

    3. 007 First Light

This is one of those rare gems that delivered more than people originally expected. Developed by IO Interactive — the masterminds behind the Hitman franchise — 007 First Light offers explosive set pieces, an intriguing story, and incredible character development. This last aspect is helped by superb acting from everyone involved in making this title, especially Lennie James, who brings John Greenway to life.

James portrayed Morgan Jones in AMC’s The Walking Dead, but here he does something completely different from what fans are used to. You know how the story goes: A new recruit named James Bond suddenly has the chance to become one of the world’s best spies, and not necessarily because he worked for it, but because he pulled a stunt that was deemed impossible. His trainer, John Greenway, isn’t happy with the situation, so he decides to make Bond’s life a nightmare. However, a sudden emergency will force the pair to work together, and by the end of the title, our two protagonists couldn’t be any closer.

007 First Light is a perfect mix of Uncharted-like action with a thrilling spy story that pulls no punches. Better yet, it leaves the door open for even bigger things to come, and we can’t wait to learn what’s next for the franchise.

    4. Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint

Jon Bernthal’s breakout role as Shane Walshin The Walking Dead catapulted his career to brand-new heights, and since then, the iconic actor has appeared in no shortage of movies, series, and, of course, video games. He has a Punisher skin in Fortnite and was featured as a playable character in the Exo Zombies mode of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. However, his most prominent role in this type of media is Cole Denholm Walker in Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint.

Walker first appears in Ghost Recon Wildlandsbefore taking the spotlight in its sequel. While he initially was a part of the Ghosts, his motivations quickly went sideways after many of his teammates died on a relentless mission. Now, as the player, you’ll be forced to face him and his army of Wolves in no shortage of action-packed scenarios.

Before you ask: Yes, Jon Bernthal does say his iconic phrase, “Let me tell you something,” in the game.
