Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan came close to the big money on ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati 18’, but their game ended just as they got the final answer right. The actors appeared on the quiz show with director Priyadarshan while promoting their upcoming film ‘Haiwaan’.
The duo faced the Rs 25 lakh question towards the end of their appearance. They were asked:
Which of these is a Brazilian performing art form of African origin that includes martial arts movements such as kicks and chops?
The four options were Tango, Capoeira, Bushido and Flamenco.
Akshay and Saif went with Capoeira. Their choice turned out to be correct.
However, there was no time left for another question. The show’s timer went off soon after they locked in the answer, bringing their turn on the hot seat to an end.
Lifelines helped along the way
The actors did not get through the game without some help. They used lifelines while answering the questions and eventually reached the Rs 25 lakh mark.
After winning the amount, Akshay and Saif said they would donate the money to charity.
What is Capoeira?
Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian martial art that mixes fighting movements with dance and acrobatics. It includes movements such as kicks and chops, making it different from a traditional martial art.
The first references to Capoeira date back to the 1700s. The art form is said to have originated in Angola before becoming part of Brazilian culture.
