Michelle Celeste Garcia, daughter of actors Patrick Garcia and Nikka Martinez, is sharpening her singing and dancing skills through a K-pop training program in Singapore.
At 13, Michelle is taking part in the K-Pop Professional Training Programme at SM Universe Singapore, the first K-pop training academy in Southeast Asia. Launched by SM Entertainment in 2025, the academy offers training based on methods used in South Korea’s entertainment industry, with Korean trainers guiding students in vocals and dance.
Michelle recently appeared on SM Universe Singapore’s Instagram, where she shared that she travels from the Philippines to Singapore every Friday for her classes. She described the experience as worthwhile, saying the program has allowed her to meet new coaches and learn techniques that she can apply to both her singing and dancing. Michelle also encouraged other young people to take chances and step outside their comfort zones, saying that trying something new can help them discover more about themselves and their abilities.
Her parents have been supporting her throughout the experience, accompanying her on her weekend trips and turning the Singapore visits into family bonding moments. Nikka recently shared an emotional post about their 10 consecutive weekends in the city-state, describing the trips as a memorable journey while looking forward to what comes next for her daughter. Michelle already has experience in the entertainment industry. In 2024, she was selected as part of the backup dance team for IU’s H.E.R.E.H World Tour stop in Bulacan, while in 2025, she became one of the new talents of ABS-CBN’s Star Magic. Aside from performing, Michelle is also a content creator and has frequently expressed her love for K-pop and pop culture, including her support for artists and groups such as BLACKPINK and BINI.
