S-sugoi…
Orbitals is now available exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2. This is a 2 player co-op game featuring a nostalgic anime art style and vibe. A new behind the scenes video has been shared featuring the game’s director, Marcos Ramos, explaining just where those anime influences come into play. Learn more about how the game was designed, plus specific shows and artists that inspired it, in the video above.
Marcos Ramos, Creative Director on Orbitals, takes us through his favourite anime art books and how they transformed into inspirations for the game.
”To be anime it’s the sum of its parts, and everyone doing an excellent job at each of those parts, be it animation, character design, backgrounds. When you put them all together they create a great art piece.”

Orbitals is built from the ground up for asymmetric 2-player co-op in a universe styled like an anime from the 80s/90s.
With the goal to honour the warmth and style of classic Japanese anime, the Orbitals universe is brought to life with hand-crafted cinematic cutscenes from Studio Massket, full Japanese and English voice acting, and an original soundtrack that channels the magic of the era.
