Kayadu Lohar is on a roll this September with two back-to-back releases, Immortal with GV Prakash Kumar and I’m Game with Dulquer Salmaan. While she was seen promoting the latter, her absence from Immortal promotions drew criticism. The actor has now addressed the backlash and revealed why she could not participate in the film’s promotions.
Kayadu Lohar on criticism
Actor Kayadu Lohar has responded to criticism over her absence from the promotions of her Tamil film Immortal, which stars GV Prakash Kumar alongside her. A section of the audience has questioned why the actor promoted her other recent release, I’m Game, co-starring Dulquer Salmaan, while seemingly not doing enough for Immortal.
Speaking about the criticism in an interview with Galatta Plus, Kayadu said, “I haven’t gotten into any of this (controversy). But I don’t know why people have started talking about it. I’m not paying too much heed to it, because I had that one day available for I’m Game promotion and the team over here for Immortal, they didn’t have that day.”
“You know how film shootings are. It’s just not me who has to go and turn up on set; a lot of other things are also happening. I was shooting for a film, and then, I couldn’t be a part of the promotion. But I just feel like I don’t have to explain it to anybody. There was I’m Game promotion also happening, for which I didn’t turn up,” she explained.
Kayadu Lohar upcoming movies
The film has been eagerly awaited ever since the makers released a chilling and entertaining teaser of the film last year. Apart from GV Prakash Kumar and Kayadu Lohar, it also features a host of actors, including TM Karthik, Kumar Natarajan, Lollu Sabha Maaran, Aaditya Kathir, Arshu Maharjan, Pema Tsamchoe and Sunita Shrestha. On the technical front, the film, which has been produced by Arunkumar Dhanasekaran, has cinematography by Arun Radhakrishnan and music by Sam CS. While Immortal released on September 4, I’m Game hit the theatres on September 3.
On the work front, actor Kayadu Lohar will be seen next in Nani’s The Paradise. She also has Thaaram, Manjanaththi and Suriya 48, which are at different stages of production.
