Yep. I know. GTA 6 is still on the list of storied crime games without a PC release date. GTA 5, though, is out on PC and has long been the place folks who love Rockstar’s crime sandboxes so much they want to pretend they live in them go for a spot of GTA roleplaying. Rockstar appear to be sticking to Guh Tuh Ah Vuh for that sort of thing in the near future too, since they’re currently trumpeting a new version of the modded roleplay servers run by Nopixel Studios.

“Today, we are proud to support Nopixel — who have continually pushed the boundaries of GTA Roleplay through character immersion, modifications to the GTAV map, and a creative community of dedicated storytellers — with the official announcement of the Nopixel V closed beta arriving on September 8th where invited players will access the experience through the Rockstar Games Launcher,” Rockstar crowed in a newswire post.

Nopixel V is the latest version of the Rockstar-backed studio’s GTA roleplaying sandbox, which fills the city’s vanilla foundations with the likes of new buildings and locations where folks can pretend to play whichever jobs or roles they’ve picked out for their characters. This iteration adds the likes of a hotel and casino dubbed the Pixel and remaps a big chuck of the Cypress Flats industrial estate. It also boasts reworked character customisation mechanics, pedestrians who’re more likely to react to being run over, and new gigs for roleplayers to take on.

Sounds cool, especially given that other GTA’s not on its way to PC yet. For now, though, it seems all most folks will be able to do is watch established GTA roleplayers give it a go. That September 8th closed beta Rockstar mentioned is limited to invited players and streamers, whose characters look to have names like Dark Suckaberg, Vin Petrol, and, er, Zuck Cuck. To be clear, the first one and the last one are two separate people, and it’s not clear from their card art on Nopixel’s website whether they are the weirdo variants of the Facebook bloke those names would suggest.

So, for now all you can do is Zuck down any jealous feelings, take a seat in the Cuck chair, and watch someone stream this “next evolution”, as Rockstar are pegging it.

At least you can feel safe in the knowledge that is another sign seemingly pointing towards there not being a GTA 6 online for us PC folks to be missing out on any time soon.
