5 new TV shows to watch this September

After a relatively quiet month for new TV shows in August, September has arrived with a bunch of new shows to watch. After taking a look at all the streaming originals coming this month, I picked six new TV shows you simply have to watch this month.

Almost all of the major streamers have new and returning shows coming with new seasons this month, but only Apple TV is the only series with multiple new shows worth checking out. We also have a Netflix series, a Prime Video series, and an FX on Hulu series to watch. Let’s start the list there.

The Drop: A Snowfall Saga

• Release date: Sept. 8, 2026
• Where to watch: FX, Hulu, and Disney+

Snowfall is one of the best TV shows of the last decade. Now, The Drop: A Snowfall Saga is continuing the story of the FX series that ran for six seasons from 2017 to 2023. If you liked Snowfall,you have to watch this new series.

The Drop star Gail Bean and Isaiah John, who are reprising their roles of Wanda Bell and Leon Simmons for the series. The story revolves around Wanda, who tries to get in the ground floor of West Coast rap’s explosion into the mainstream. Asante Blackk, Peyton Alex Smith, Simmie “Buddy” Sims III, and Brandon Mychal Smith also star in the series

The Drop: A Snowfall Saga premieres on Sept. 8 on FX. You can also watch the spinoff on Hulu and Disney+. New episodes of The Drop will air weekly on Tuesdays!

Last Seen

• Release date: Sept. 9, 2026
• Where to watch: Apple TV

If you like Australian mysteries, Last Seen is absolutely the show for you! The Apple TVseries stars Patrick Brammall as Ian Ridley, a police officer still mourning the disappearance of his daughter a decade earlier. When Ian finds information that suggests his daughter might be alive, he starts a new investigation.

The series has an excellent cast, including Brammell, Maxine Peak, Brendan Cowell, Daniel Henshall, and Jessica Wren.

There are only six episodes inLast Seen. The first two episodes of the series will be released on Sept. 9, and then, we’ll get new episodes weekly through Oct. 7. It’s going to be a quick season, so make sure you don’t fall behind with this mystery series!

Crew Girl

• Release date: Sept. 19, 2026
• Where to watch: Netflix

Teen and college shows are all the rage once again this summer! We’ve already seen Off Campus, Sterling Point, Outer Banks, and many more. Netflix has another new one coming on Sept. 10, and that’s Crew Girl.

In the eight-episode series, Crew Girltells the story of Teagan, played by Miku Martieau, who joins the all-boys crew team at a prestigious prep school on the East Coast. What happens next? You’ll just have to watch to find out!

I have no doubt that Crew Girl is going to be a massive success at Netflix. I’m sure it’s going to score a season 2 renewal in no time. All eight episodes of the first season of the series will be available to stream on Sept. 10.

Neagley

• Release date: Sept. 16, 2026
• Where to watch: Prime Video

Neagley is the Reacher spinoff, and it’s coming to Prime Video the same day that the Reacherseason 4 finale hits the streaming service.

If you need more information than “Reacherspinoff,” Neagley stars Maria Sten, who stars as the titular character. In the world ofReacher, Neagley served alongside Reacher. The pair later teamed up for various missions. Now, Neagley is on her own, continuing her work as a private investigator. When somehow from her past turns up dead, Neagley tries to get to the bottom of the mystery.

While Alan Ritchson is not a major part of this series, it does appear Ritchson will be playing Jack Reacher in at least one episode.

UnlikeReacher,all eight episodes of Neagleyseason 1 will be released on Sept. 16. That’s a lot of Reacher in one day, but we’re ready for it.

Brothers

• Release date: Sept. 23, 2026
• Where to watch: Apple TV

Brothers is the new show I’m most excited to watch in September, and it’s not really that close! I wouldn’t say I’m the biggest Matthew McConaughey or Woody Harrelson fan. True Detective season 1 was excellent, of course, but this is McConaughey and Harrelson like we’ve never seen them before!

In Brothers, which premieres with two episodes on Sept. 23 on Apple TV, McConaughey and Harrelson star as themselves in a fictional series where McConaughey and Harrelson move in together and discover they might be long-lost brothers.

I don’t know if we’ll ever see a TV show like this again. Lee Eisenberg, who is incredible and best known for his work on The Office, Jury Duty,and other shows and movies, created the series.

Those are the five new shows to watch in September! With all the showsreturning for new seasons, this is going to be a great month!
