ONE Store, an app market for mobile content including games and applications, said on the 1st that it has formally launched ONE Store Global, its bid for overseas markets, along with a direct-to-consumer payment platform called ONE Shop.

ONE Store Global is starting service simultaneously in 122 countries across North America, Latin America and Asia. It has secured more than 1,000 titles for the launch, including content built on artificial intelligence and blockchain as well as a range of titles that have not been distributed on existing app markets.

The company is positioning the distribution of AI and blockchain games as its differentiator. Unlike some app markets that apply separate review standards and policies to apps tied to digital assets or tokens, ONE Store Global applies the same review standards it uses for other content and places no separate restrictions on which blockchain networks or wallets developers use. The aim is to establish the platform as a distribution channel for blockchain games rolling out worldwide.

Developers can release a game in all 122 countries at once using a single global build. ONE Store says that reduces the burden of developing or maintaining separate builds for individual countries.

A service called AI Games, which gathers titles made with AI in one place, will also debut globally in September. It lets players run games that creators built using AI directly on ONE Store Global without installing a separate app. The service launched first in South Korea in August and is now expanding worldwide.

The opening lineup includes Frost Kingdom, which recently reached No. 1 on the popularity rankings of both of South Korea’s two largest app markets.

Users can pay with the methods common in their own markets. The platform supports credit cards and other locally suited payment options so that buyers can make purchases without payment barriers.

ONE Shop, which opened at the same time, is a direct-to-consumer channel that merges ONE Store’s ONE Web Shop with Nexus’s Cross Shop. Following South Korea, where it was already operating, six more markets have been added — the United States, Japan, Taiwan, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines — for a total of seven. Developers can sell in-game items for a commission of just 5%, excluding payment gateway fees, maximizing their margins.

Developers can adopt ONE Shop without building a separate version of their app, using the same in-app payment integration specifications already in place for ONE Store. They can also run app distribution and web payments side by side. A new Site Builder function lets developers lay out their own ONE Shop sales pages, setting how products are displayed, the order of banners and background colors and images to build a direct-to-consumer channel that matches their brand.

Users can reach ONE Shop through multiple entry points, including links inside games and the ONE Store Global app. Its advantage is that it offers more than payment processing, providing a path that runs from the app market through to web payment.

Chang Hyun-kuk, chief executive of Nexus, ONE Store’s parent company, said the company is “launching the world’s first AI and blockchain game platform in 122 countries, starting from Korea.” He added, “We will carry the innovation happening in AI and blockchain straight through to game content and platforms.”

ONE Store plans to expand the countries it serves, the regions where ONE Shop is available and its content lineup.
