From a new indoor play experience that turns video games into active adventures to an immersive Harry Potter experience, a giant new farm slide and brand-new playground fun, there are plenty of reasons to get out and explore somewhere new this fall.

If your family is ready to add some fresh adventures to your fall bucket list, check out these NEW places and experiences to visit in September!

If your kids love video games, they’re going to want to check out Recr8Play, a new indoor play experience in Troy that puts a physical twist on gaming.

Instead of sitting on the couch with a controller, kids can get moving and become part of the action. Recre8uses interactive technology and active play to turn familiar video-game-style experiences into opportunities to run, jump, move and compete.

It’s a fun option for families looking for something different from a traditional indoor playground and especially appealing when Michigan weather starts sending everyone indoors. This is also a great spot for birthdays, scouting and sport team outings.

LEGO Build & Talk | Michigan Science Center

LEGO fans have a NEW reason to visit the Michigan Science Center this fall! The LEGO Build & Talk experience gives kids a chance to build and play while families explore conversations around technology, video games and digital entertainment.

Kids can get creative with LEGO bricks while parents use the experience as a jumping-off point for conversations about digital play and healthy technology habits. The hands-on experience is a fun addition to a visit to theMichigan Science Center and gives young builders another reason to explore the museum this fall.

Harry Potter in Shared Reality | Cosm Detroit

One of Detroit’s newest entertainment destinations is about to become a must-visit for Harry Potter fans.

Cosm Detroitbrings a completely different way to experience movies and entertainment to downtown Detroit. For families, one of the most exciting experiences isHarry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in Shared Reality.

Rather than watching the movie on a traditional screen, families are surrounded by an immersive environment that makes the Wizarding World feel larger than life. Hogwarts, characters and magical elements extend throughout the massive screen and surrounding space, creating the feeling that you’ve stepped inside the movie. There’s also a special menu allowing you to see and taste the experience.

Accessible Playground | Community Park in New Haven

Looking for a NEW playground to explore this fall? Head to Community Park in New Haven, where families can check out a new accessible playscape designed for kids of different ages and abilities.

The playground features multiple slides, climbing features and plenty of room for kids to run, climb and play. There are structures designed for both younger and older children, making it a great spot for families with kids in different age groups.

The playground is just one part of the park. Families can also enjoy walking paths, picnic shelters, basketball courts and swings, making it easy to turn a playground visit into a longer afternoon outing.

Fall is officially here whenDeBuck’s Family Farm opens for its annual Fall Festival on September 12th and this year there’s a BIG new reason to visit.

The farm’s NEW Mega Slide is sure to be a hit with kids who love a little adrenaline. The giant slide features a 25-foot drop and 175-foot ramp, giving kids a long, fast ride down the hill. The Mega Slide joins the farm’s already impressive lineup of fall attractions, including the giant jumping pillow, pedal cars, Tire Mountain, sand diggers, wagon rides, Goatville and more.

A NEW place for kids to learn, build and create is coming to Plymouth! Steamojiis a STEM maker academy designed for kids ages 6–14. The hands-on program combines technology, creativity and making with activities focused on areas like coding, robotics, engineering, 3D printing and digital arts.

Instead of simply learning about STEM concepts, kids get to use them to create and build their own projects. It’s a great option for kids who love figuring out how things work, making things with their hands or experimenting with technology.

A visit to the Heritage Park Petting Farm just got even better for little animal lovers! In addition to getting up close with more than 90 farm animals, families can enjoy the new playground located at the Petting Farm. The farm-themed playscape gives kids a chance to burn off some energy before or after visiting the barn.

And, of course, the playground is just the beginning. Families can visit the farm’s goats, sheep, alpacas, ponies, cows, donkeys, rabbits, chickens, pigs and other animals. There’s also a nature pond where kids can look for koi, frogs, turtles and ducks.

September is an especially fun time to visit because the Petting Farm has several special events on the calendar, including Wild Weekend with exotic animals September 12–13and Train Rides September 26–27.
