PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch players can now experience six NES and SNES classics for cheap on the PS Store. Jaleco’siconic sports series has been revived for a modern generation.

Rock It Games has released Jaleco Sports Faceoffs for PS5, with a collection of three retro Nintendo sports franchises, for just $9.99 on the PlayStation Store. Players can get the collection for an even lower price thanks to the special launch discount of $7.99 during the first two weeks.

The collection includes the famously rare NES game Pro Sport Hockey (1993) and its SNES counterpart USA Ice Hockey (1994). They are joined by the arcade-style basketball games Hoops & Moero!! Junior Basket – Two on Two (NES, 1988 – 1989) and the classic tennis titles Racket Attack & Moero!! Pro Tennis (NES, 1988 – 1994).

Retro sports classics get modern PS5 enhancements

Jaleco Sports Faceoffs brings back nostalgia from nearly four decades ago to PS5. Besides the iconic NES and SNES games, the collection includes original manuals, a VHS ‘rewind’ feature to replay great moments during games, a retro TV CRT filter display option, and monthly leaderboards to compete against friends and the rest of the world.

Here’s the list of perks players get from the PS5 versions of all six classic titles:

Pro Sport Hockey / USA Ice Hockey

    • Realistic hockey simulation with slap shots, slick passes, body checks, and penalties.
    • Choose from a league of 24 unique teams.
    • Play an exhibition or official game, or special practice modes.
    • Includes a regulation 84-game season schedule, playoffs, and cup finals.
    • Create and change lines for any situation: scoring, checking, power plays.
    • 1 player vs. computer, 2-player head-to-head, and computer vs. computer modes.

Hoops / Moero!! Junior Basket – Two on Two

    • Half-court street basketball with fast, arcade-style action.
    • Realistic moves – blocked shots, steal the ball, pass, or drive hard to the hoop.
    • 8 unique characters, each with their own strengths and weaknesses.
    • 1-on-1 or 2-on-2 matchups: team up or go it alone.
    • Two courts to choose from.
    • Play solo against the computer or with a friend.

Racket Attack / Moero!! Pro Tennis

    • Realistic tennis moves including lobs, volleys, and slices.
    • Choose from 8 men’s and 8 women’s players, each with unique strengths and weaknesses.
    • Tournament mode lets you battle through seven increasingly difficult matches to claim the championship trophy.
    • 2-player exhibition mode for going head-to-head against a friend.
    • Multiple court surfaces to play on.

Additionally, players can seamlessly switch between the NES and SNES versions anytime, including regional releases of all games. They can also rewind the action like a VHS tape, or play with a classic TV CRT filter or numerous other retro display options.
