The Hawk has landed on Netflix! Will Ferrell’s edgy new golf comedy seriesmade its premiere on July 16 and gifted the world a new character expertly crafted by the comedy icon. A Man on the Inside
From two comedy series starring iconic stars to another, Netflix is also home to A Man on the Inside starring Ted Danson. Amid the streamer’s flurry of hit comedies that also includes Nobody Wants Thisand The Four Seasons, this one might be currently flying under your radar ahead of season 3.
Danson stars in A Man on the Inside as Charles Nieuwendyk, a retired college professor who finds himself thrust into a world of mystery when he assists a private investigator with her latest mystery. After closing a case in a retirement home, Charles cracks another case at a private college.
Just like Danson’s previous collaboration with Michael Schur, the underrated The Good Place,the jokes in A Man on the Inside are clever and witty. Even when the series ventures into more serious territory with its storytelling, the overall tone remains light and effortlessly humorous.
Big Mistakes
You might think that crime and comedy don’t mix, but there are a number of hit movies that beg to differ. Schitt’s Creekstar and mastermind Dan Levy further proved that the two genres can beautifully blend with his new Netflix original series Big Mistakes.
In the series, estranged siblings find themselves in an accidental fight for their lives when a stolen necklace ends up having them on the hook for blackmail from a drug boss. The pair navigate the world of organized crime with a level of stress and flippancy that’s truly laugh-out-loud worthy.
Big Mistakes also stars Laurie Metcalf in a performance that should have landed her an Emmy Award nomination (but she got two others this year anyway). While we wait for season 2, new fans simply must discover the genuinely ludicrous comedy that stands up to the humor inThe Hawk.

There are countless other comedies we could single out on this list, like the Shane Gillis workplace comedy Tires, but Netflix has found its voice with its latest multi-cam comedy. From Chuck Lorre and starring beloved standup Leanne Morgan, Leanne is the funniest sitcom you’re not watching.
But if you are watching, then you know Leanne has the perfect blend of heart and hilarity that was the hallmark of the multi-cam sitcoms that used to be on every single network. In the series, Morgan plays a grandmother-to-be as she starts over after the abrupt end of her 30-year marriage.
Leannefeatures a number of fellow comedy legends, like Kristen Johnston and Ryan Stiles, and delivers the exact brand of low-stakes, uncomplicated laughs that feel comfortable and nostalgic. The second season premieres on Aug. 27, allowing time for new fans to hop on board!
