A brazen card shop smash-and-grab early this morning inside a Kenosha County card shop left one business with hundreds of items stolen.

The owner of Goldenrod City Collectibles said thieves stole more than $300,000 worth of collectibles.

It happened in less than seven minutes.

“One guy came in through the window; he opened the door, three came in, so a total of four guys in there,” said owner Eric Khabbaz.

Surveillance video shows a group of masked men smashed into the card shop.

“They also weren’t wearing gloves, so we have fingerprints for all that stuff,” Khabbaz said.

“That whole wall over was there was sealed product; it’s all gone,” Khabbaz said.

Shelves inside Goldenrod City shop were emptied as the thieves smashed through cases, filling bags with vintage and rare trading cards, including a row of Pokémon cards worth nearly $1,500 each.

“We have five display cases here; they were all broken, and they stole almost everything,” Khabbaz said.

    They didn’t stop there.

Surveillance video shows one man crack open the cash register, taking all the money inside.

“When I watched the footage, I was like, this is not real. I just didn’t think it was my shop until I got here, witnessed it and saw the numbers adding up. It’s just heartbreaking,” Khabbaz said.

The owner said his shop has insurance, but it could take years to replace everything stolen.

12 News Jasmine Franklin asked the owner if he thought the break-in was targeted or premeditated.

“I 100 percent believe so. They came straight up to the display cases, grabbed just the expensive stuff over here,” Khabbaz said.

Twin Lakes police are investigating and actively searching for the suspects and this vehicle.

Officers are using evidence to find them, including the tool the thieves broke in with but left behind.

The owner said he plans on beefing up their security system to avoid this from happening again.

It will remain closed for the entire week as they clean up and try to restock the items stolen.
