2026 GACC Show Plans Five Coin Seminars for Oct. 2

Five collector seminars will anchor the educational programming at the 2026 Great American Coin & Collectibles Show (www.GACC.show), with sessions devoted to classic U.S. commemoratives and several aspects of Morgan and Peace silver dollar collecting.

The seminars will be held Friday, Oct. 2, during the three-day show at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois. The event runs Oct. 1-3 in Hall F.

Four of the five sessions are National Silver Dollar Round Table Educational Forums covering grading and pricing, Prooflike and Deep Mirror Prooflike Morgan dollars, high-grade Peace dollars, and Morgan dollar varieties and die clashes.

Friday Seminar Schedule

11 a.m. — Ask the Expert: U.S. Commemorative Coins, 1892–1954. Larry Shepherd and Tyler Jorgenson
1 p.m. — National Silver Dollar Round Table Educational Forum: How to Grade and Price Silver Dollars. Scott Travers and Don Ketterling
2 p.m. — PL and DMPL Morgan Dollars. Don Rinkor
3 p.m. — High Grade Mint State Peace Dollars — What You Need to Know to be an Expert Collector. Shepherd and Jorgenson
4 p.m. — Morgan Dollar Varieties and Die Clashes. Dr. Nowland Bambard

Shepherd, president of Shepherd Expos Management, said the programs are intended to address practical issues collectors encounter on the bourse floor, including coins that are harder to locate than their prices might suggest, questionable versus acceptable toning, and strike quality.

“We will emphasize what you need to know to make an intelligent decision on the coin show floor,” Shepherd said.

Educational Journey Returns

The show also will bring back its Numismatic Educational Journey, which sends visitors to about 20 dealer tables featuring special displays of historic coins, bank notes and other numismatic items.

Attendees who visit the displays and complete the program are entered into a drawing for prizes, which organizers said could include a certified proof Franklin half dollar or an American Silver Eagle.

“The Educational Journey program has been popular at our previous <a href="https://comicvibe.com/10-fantasy-tv-shows-canceled-way-too-soon/” title=”10 Fantasy TV Shows Canceled Way Too Soon”>shows,” Shepherd said.

Show Details

Public hours are 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Oct. 1 and 2, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3.

The show will be held in Hall F of the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, 5555 N. River Road, Rosemont, Illinois.

Admission is $15 for a three-day pass or $10 per day. Children age 10 and younger are admitted free.

The event is co-produced by Shepherd Expos Management and Amos Media, publisher of Coin World. Heritage Auctions is the official auctioneer. Heritage, Coin World, Legend Numismatics and West Coast Coins also serve as co-sponsors.
