Spider-Man: Brand New Day <a href="https://www.boxofficemojo.com/release/rl2299756545/” rel=”nofollow noopener” target=”_blank”>grossed over $2.5 billion worldwide and set the record for having the highest domestic box office gross in history with $954,528,523. It’s safe to say that Spidey fever is at an all-time high.
Combining this with the highly anticipated release of Amazing Spider-Man #1000, there’s no stopping Marvel’s greatest financial juggernaut.
To seemingly commemorate both of these extraordinary events, which took place within months of one another, one collector decided to flex their entire collection of Spider-Man comics. The collection comprised every single ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ from issue #1-1000.
It did not include any other titles such as Web of Spider-Man, Spectacular Spider-Man, or Todd McFarlane’s ‘Spider-Man’. It did, however, have the wall-crawler’s first-ever appearance in comics, Amazing Fantasy #15 from 1962.
The collection was laid out in 10 rows, and the time-lapse showcased the arduous task of delicately laying out each issue from 1963 to 2026.
This level of dedication toward the character is practically unheard of. The collector reportedly began with issue #195 in 1979, and over the course of 47 years, bought every single issue they could get their hands on.
The collection is easily worth millions of dollars, depending on how each issue’s condition holds up.

Spider-Man Comics Sell for a Pretty Penny
A CGC 9.6 grade copy of Amazing Fantasy #15 (1962) sold for a whopping $3.6 million in September 2021. Granted, this comic was in near-mint condition, and, coupled with the significance of this issue, it eventually led to a sale of such magnitude.
Comics have also been sold based on the significance of their storylines.
The Amazing Spider-Man #50 features the iconic ‘Spider-Man No More’ arc, where Peter Parker gives up the mantle of the superhero, as it was far too taxing on him to juggle his personal life with the life of being New York’s champion.
It also had the first-ever appearance of the villain Kingpin, a crime lord who overlaps heavily with Daredevil. This comic sold for $99,000 in 2023.
In another shocking sale, a single page of a comic from Marvel’s 1984 crossover event, Secret Wars, sold for $3.36 million in 2022. Illustrated by Mike Zeck, it introduced Spidey’s black suit that would later become known as the symbiote that bonds with Eddie Brock to form Venom.
There is no shortage of valuable comics featuring Spider-Man. In 20 years’ time, issue #1000 will certainly be auctioned off for hundreds of thousands of dollars, regardless of how the story within the book was received.
