Roblox’s expansion in the Kingdom is not limited to gaming, as the company is also expanding the platform’s use in education and technology and coding skills, while supporting local game development studios and talent.
In 2026, the company partnered with Savvy Games Group to use the platform to develop science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) skills, while supporting students, developers, and content creators.
More than 700,000 secondary school students participated in the first edition of the “Learning Through Play” competition in Saudi Arabia, which invited students to submit ideas for digital games. The top 10 concepts were subsequently developed into actual experiences at Roblox’s Learning Center.
A New Economy Around Gaming
Creator earnings reflect a shift in the business model of gaming platforms, which are no longer limited to selling games to users but increasingly enable developers and content creators to build digital products and experiences and generate income from in-platform purchases.
In Saudi Arabia, this model aligns with plans to develop the gaming and esports sector, attract global companies, nurture local talent, and build an industry capable of generating new economic opportunities.
Through its regional headquarters in Riyadh, Roblox is betting on expanding this activity across Saudi Arabia and the wider region, leveraging its user and developer base alongside government and private-sector investment aimed at building a broader digital and creative economy.
