James Bond is preparing to make his debut on Nintendo Switch 2 in the coming months.
IO Interactive previously confirmed that the Switch 2 version of 007: First Light would launch slightly later than the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC versions, but the studio has not officially announced a release date yet.
Until now, the only confirmed information was that the game would be released during the summer, following the roadmap shared by the developer.
007: First Light for Nintendo Switch 2 Reportedly Launches on September 16
According to a new listing on Amazon Japan, however, 007: First Light for Nintendo Switch 2 is scheduled to launch on September 16.
The Amazon Japan listing also shows a price of 8,910 yen (about $54) and confirms that the physical edition will use a Game-Key Card, meaning the full game will not be stored on the cartridge and will need to be downloaded.
If the September 16 release date is correct, 007: First Light will arrive during one of the busiest months of the year for video game releases, competing with highly anticipated titles such as Marvel Wolverine, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, NBA 2K27, and The Blood of Dawnwalker. With so many major games launching throughout September, it could be more difficult for 007: First Light to stand out.
It may not be the best time to release such a big game on Nintendo Switch 2, but IO Interactive may not have had the option to release 007: First Light in August or delay it until October.
For now, the September 16 release date remains unconfirmed. Until IO Interactive makes an official announcement, take this information with a pinch of salt. As more information becomes available, we’ll be sure to keep you updated here at MP1st.
