Zendaya looked to Halle Berry for Halloween inspiration this year. The actor recreated one of Berry’s most memorable red-carpet looks from the early 2000s, prompting a quick reaction from the star. Zendaya’s longtime stylist Law Roach revealed the Halloween look on Instagram. For the costume, Zendaya recreated Berry’s vintage Lanvin outfit from the July 2000 New York premiere of X-Men.
The outfit featured a string bikini top with matching low-rise, wide-leg pants. Zendaya also wore tinted sunglasses, pointed heels, diamond earrings, and red nails.
Her short hairstyle completed the look. Berry wore a similar cut when she attended the X-Men premiere while promoting her role as Storm.
Roach also thanked Lanvin for helping bring the costume together. Zendaya’s costume closely resembled Berry’s original outfit.
The costume continued Zendaya’s tradition of paying tribute to stars and memorable movie moments through fashion. Her red-carpet looks often reference old Hollywood, classic films, or past style icons.
This was not the first time Zendaya had drawn inspiration from Berry.
At the 2026 Emmys, Zendaya wore a sparkling Prada gown and pixie cut that recalled Berry’s 2002 Die Another Day premiere look.
Berry loved that outfit too. She praised Zendaya’s Emmys look and said she had “murdered the night.”
