Toxic: After box office failure, Yash starrer gets just THIS much for its OTT deal

The Yash-led Toxic has turned out to be a major box-office failure, with losses crossing all barriers. The makers reportedly turned out a Rs 150 crore deal while seeking Rs 200 crore, expecting the film`s commercial success to increase its value.

Yash-starre Toxic is coming to an end to its theatrical run after a poor box office performance. Made on an estimated Rs 500 crore budget, the high-octane action thriller had a massive opening but crashed due to underwhelming word-of-mouth. And now, the film’s major box office failure might hamper its OTT deal, as before the release, the makers had reportedly not settled a deal with any digital streaming platform.
Toxic gets just Rs 30 crore for streaming rights amid box office failure?
Aorm had offered the makers a staggering amount of Rs 150 crore for post-theatrical streaming rights. But the Toxic team wanted a bigger amount of Rs 200 crore. Thefice success, and after the release, it might receive a deal of Rs 200 crore
The source further shared that now the team is getting an offer of Rs 30 crore for streaming rights. The source shared, “The digital players are now offering an amount as low as Rs. 30 crore for the post-theatrical streaming rights for all languages. The biggest offer has come from Zee 5.” Reports claim that the makers are now creating a completely different cut for the digital version, hoping to get a massive amount from the OTT deal. However, there’s no confirmation about the team’s OTT deal yet.
BookMyShow removes Toxic’s poor ratings
Amid the negative reviews surrounding the film, a user on Reddit shared that the ticket booking platform BookMyShow has eliminated Toxic’s rating and is only showcasing the number of likes. The viral screenshot has a caption that reads, “Toxic’s rating got so bad on BookMyShow, they removed it now.” However, the previous screenshot showed the movie got just a 5.5/10 rating, and the current version only showcases the number of likes.
According to entertainment tracking portal Sacnilk, the film’s total Indian collection stands at Rs 243.40 crore, and the India gross collection has reached Rs 290.50 crore.
