Xbox Wireless Controller Finally Breaks Its 3-Month Price Streak, and the USB

Microsoft’s XBOX Wireless Gaming Controller + USB-C Cable includes the same controller that ships with an Xbox Series X|S, plus a USB-C cable for direct wired play or charging a rechargeable battery pack. It’s compatible with Xbox consoles, Windows PCs, Android smartphones, and iPhones, giving you a single gamepad that can handle all your platforms’ gaming needs.

You can pick up the XBOX Wireless Gaming Controller + USB-C Cable on Amazon for $49, down from $65. That saves $16, or 25%.

An Xbox controller with a hybrid D-pad and a USB-C cable in the box

Features include a hybrid D-pad, which combines the functionality of a classic cross-shaped directional pad with the accuracy of a circle, textured grip surfaces on each trigger, bumper, and the rear surface, and a dedicated Share button. It also offers broad compatibility with your gaming systems. It connects wirelessly via Xbox Wireless technology to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles, and pairs via Bluetooth with Windows PCs, Android devices, and iPhones. The included USB-C cable lets you plug in directly to your computer or game system.

Wireless connectivity to your console and PC saves you from swapping gamepads multiple times throughout the day. Another benefit of the hybrid D-pad is its usability in fighting games and platformers. The textured grips are another added feature that helps prevent your hands from slipping during extended play.

The Share button allows you to take screenshots or create video clips of your gameplay without stopping the game or going through menus. If you’re connected to an Xbox console, you can instantly upload these captures to social media or send them to friends.

If you’d rather not worry about battery drain, you have the option of plugging directly into your computer or game system using the provided USB-C cable. It uses AA batteries for up to 40 hours of wireless gaming, and a rechargeable battery pack, sold separately, can be charged

A 3.5mm stereo audio jack lets you connect any wired headset, which lets you receive both game audio and voice chat simultaneously. For advanced gamers, the Xbox Accessories app provides an interface for remapping buttons and creating custom layouts for specific types of games.

On Xbox Series X|S consoles, the XBOX Wireless Gaming Controller + USB-C Cable supports Dynamic Latency Input, which minimizes delays between when you press a button and when that action appears on your screen. While Dynamic Latency Input reduces delays overall, it makes the biggest difference in fast-paced genres like first-person shooters and racing games. These games require precise timing to pull off maneuvers and win matches. Even a fraction of a second of delay between pressing a button and seeing the result on your screen can cost you a match.
