Xbox’s 25th anniversary will grant users a unique Dynamic Background for Xbox Series consoles, with a video released tonight showing it off.
For the Payers
Xbox has unveiled a dynamic background unlocked by those who use an Xbox 25th Anniversary controller (Series X25) on their console. The controller was announced alongside a 25th anniversary console at this year’s Xbox June Showcase.
The controller, which retails at $79.99 US and is still available on multiple storefronts, will unlock the above dynamic background when used on an Xbox Series X or S console. Once unlocked on an account the dynamic background should stay available as long as the account is active.
A number of lucky fans were gifted Xbox Series X 25th Anniversary consoles at the Xbox June Showcase Fanfest event in Los Angeles. The console and controller are both housed in a translucent green plastic, reminiscent of the special edition original Xbox. Our own Aarsal Masoodi captured the reaction of those in attendance.
Every Fan at Xbox FanFest Gets the Xbox Series X25 for free
The Xbox 25th Anniversary Console (Xbox Series X25) retails at $899.99 US and comes with 1 TB of storage. While the controller is available now, the console is set to release on November 13th, 2026. Keep an eye on DayOne for coverage of this special edition as we get closer to that time.
Have you purchased either the controller or console and controller bundle? Let us know in the comment section below what you think about this dynamic background.
