Ind. (WPTA) – Wonderland made its way to Fort Wayne this weekend at MadCon
At the Grand Wayne Convention Center, attendees played a variety of role-playing and board games. The event also had a vendor hall with 30 vendors selling games and crafts.
Dane Leitch, the organizer for MadCon, said, “(The event) came from the idea that games are about story and community. You sit down at a table with friends or strangers, and you roll the dice. You (can) roll high, and things go wonderfully, or you (can) roll low, and things go terribly; either way, you have a story to tell, and it’s a lot of fun.”
Game Designer Mike Breault spoke with 21Alive about his tabletop board game “Rubber Ducky Rampage,” a game where you command a fleet of rubber ducks, gather bubbles to “power them up,” and sink opponents to the bottom of the Tub.
“I had an idea for a 50-person online game … and eventually it evolved to ducks on ships. It’s been like three years of design and playtesting and lots of changes, and it just came to me one day.”
The last day of MadCon is Sunday, and it goes until 5 p.m.
