Fortnite’s Chapter 7, Season 3 is entering its final stretch: Epic Games has already begun preparations to bid farewell to one of the most intriguing and entertaining chapters of its flagship video game. As usual, there will be a grand finale to send off the current season in style. Titled “Unstable,” this live event will both advance the narrative of the entire Chapter and set the stage for the game’s next season.
Dates and Times for Fortnite’s “Unstable” Event: The End of Chapter 7, Season 3
Fortnite’s “Unstable” event will take place next Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 2:00 PM ET. This date and time correspond to the following times across the United States:

As usual, the event doors will open about an hour before it begins. This means that, about an hour before the event starts, the corresponding game mode should appear, which you’ll need to select to join. Although Epic Games says you only need to be ready five minutes beforehand, we recommend logging in at least half an hour early to avoid potential connection issues or long wait times that might prevent you from enjoying the Unstable event live. The event is expected to last the usual fifteen to twenty minutes.

“Unstable” is a narrative event that will mark the end of Fortnite C7S3 and serve as the starting point for Season 4. Following Geno’s betrayal—which culminated in the Foundation’s renewed exile and the creation of a “new” group of The Seven—Hope and the others continue to unravel both the mysteries of Zero Point and the origin of the Sprites. Will Jones wake up in time—after being seriously injured in the previous event—to warn the new heroes of the threat looming over them? Players will be able to witness all of this and much more live during the Unstable event.
When does the new Fortnite season start?
The new Fortnite season—Chapter 7, Season 4—is titled “Override” and will begin a few days after the event, on Thursday, August 20, 2026. At this point, everything indicates that its main theme will be retro video games. As in previous seasons, the start time is expected to be 1:00 AM ET, which corresponds to the following times across the United States:
