Disney+ and Hulu kick off the last month of summer with the expected deluge of licensed movies, along with a ton of original content and returning favorites. There’s something for just about everybody this week, including the final two days of the Lollapalooza music festival livestream, a Star Wars animated series, Futurama, and way more. Time And Water (Aug. 1, Disney+ and Hulu)
Disney’s partnership with National Geographic gives it access to a wide variety of shows exploring this big blue planet we rely on, but the new documentary Time and Water really caught my interest. It stars Icelandic poet Andri Snær Magnason, who is reckoning with the global warming-driven collapse of the glacial ice of his homeland. Using archival footage, folktales and songs, and gorgeous modern shots, it explores what it means to live through epochal change. Sundance viewers raved about it.

Futurama: Season 14 (Aug. 3, Hulu)
It’s wild that Futurama has died and come back to life so many times since 1999, but the current run of episodes is up to the high standard of the classics, and the 14th season promises even more shenanigans as the Planet Express crew deals with lab-grown meats, Dr. Zoidberg’s lost love, and more. In addition to the regular episodes, Hulu announced that we’ll see a trio of extra-length specials this year, including a Christmas episode.

Star Wars: Visions Presents: The Ninth Jedi (Aug. 5, Disney+ and Hulu)
The global reach of the Star Wars franchise is undeniable, so it’s cool to see other countries getting to play around in a galaxy far away.
