The Annie Award-nominated 2016 feature about two complete strangers who switch bodies on random nights returns to North American theaters August 14 in both Japanese and an English dub.
GKIDS has dropped the trailer for its new 4K remaster of Makoto Shinkai‘s award-winning Your Name, which opens across North America on August 14 in both the original Japanese and an English dub. Tickets are on sale now.
The release marks the 10th anniversary of the 2016 feature, written and directed by Shinkai (Suzume, Weathering with You), and produced by CoMix Wave Films and Toho Co Ltd. Your Name tells a unique out-of-body story where two complete strangers continue to switch bodies on random nights, becoming used to the strange reoccurrences and eventually having their lives more intertwined than expected. GKIDS notes it’s the highest-grossing original Japanese animated feature ever made, with worldwide box office of more than $400 million. And they released new key art.

The 4K Ultra HD Steelbook and Blu-ray issues are available for pre-order and will reach shelves August 25 with distribution by Shout! Studios. It is the film’s first 4K Ultra HD release in North America.
In addition to two Annie Award nominations, Your Name took Best Animated Feature Film at the 2016 Sitges — Catalonian International Film Festival and Best Animation, Best Screenplay, Best Director and Best Music Score at the 2017 Awards of the Japanese Academy.
