Alia Bhatt found herself at the centre of a social media discussion after a video from her recent appearance surfaced online. The actor, who attended the trailer launch of her production venture Don’t Be Shy on Friday, was seen interacting with fans outside the venue when one of them appeared to be pushed away by her bodyguard while attempting to click a selfie with her.
Alia Bhatt’s bodyguard pushes fan
In the video doing the rounds on social media, Alia can be seen posing for photographs as a group of fans gathers around her. At one point, a fan moves closer to the actor with his phone, seemingly trying to get a selfie. Her bodyguard steps in and pushes him away. When the fan attempts to get another picture, the security personnel again moves him away from Alia.
The video has since prompted a mixed reaction online, with several social media users questioning the way the fan was handled. Some users argued that fans should maintain a respectful distance from celebrities, while others felt that security could have dealt with the situation without pushing him.
One comment read, “I don’t know why people put these celebrities on such a high pedestal.” Another user wrote, “What is the need to give them so much priority? Just ignore them and move on,” while a third questioned the obsession with taking photographs with actors.
Alia, meanwhile, continues to pose for photographs during the interaction. The video does not show her addressing the incident, leaving her personal reaction to the bodyguard’s actions unclear.
Alia Bhatt’s Don’t Be Shy release
The incident comes shortly after Alia attended the trailer launch of Don’t Be Shy, which marks another production venture for the actor. The film is scheduled to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on September 25.
As the video continues to circulate, the discussion around celebrity-fan interactions has once again found its way onto social media, with viewers debating where the line between security and accessibility should be drawn.
On the acting front, Alia has an equally busy slate ahead. She will next feature in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love and War, alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal. The period drama is currently slated for a January 2027 theatrical release.
