An actor set to play a new Marvelsuperhero recently attended a Comic-Con event in a comic-accurate custom suit. The actor revealed how this suit was brought to life based on the character he will play in VisionQuest, which is set to premiere on Disney+this October.
In an interview with Rotten Tomatoes, Ruaridh Mollica discussed the inspiration behind his custom Prada suit. He said, “It’s a custom. Basically, I reached out to Prada, and I sent them all the pictures of Speed in the comics, and I said, ‘Make me something that resembles the comic books.’ And this is what they came up with, and I am obsessed; I can’t even. And the glasses — getting my Speed glasses — come on! Thank you.”
Mollica attended New York Comic Con in a grayish-green suit inspired by Speed’s iconic metallic-green comic-book costume. He also wore glasses inspired by the character he will portray in the upcoming Marvel miniseries.
What to know about Marvel’s VisionQuest and Ruaridh Mollica’s role as Tommy Shepherd
Mollica will play Thomas Shepherd/Tommy Maximoff in Disney+’s upcoming series VisionQuest. The character’s story began in Agatha All Along, when his twin brother, Billy, placed his soul into the body of an orphan named Thomas Shepherd.
The series follows Thomas as he tries to understand his identity while experiencing visions involving his witch mother and synthezoid father. He eventually encounters Vision, and the two begin to uncover their connection. The upcoming miniseries marks Mollica’s MCU debut.
VisionQuest also follows White Vision after the events of WandaVision as he struggles to recover his memories and rediscover his humanity. The series will also star Paul Bettany, James Spader, Emily Hampshire, James D’Arcy, Diane Morgan, Orla Brady, T’Nia Miller, Lauren Morais, and Todd Stashwick.
VisionQuest premieres on Disney+ on October 14, 2026.
