You’ve got questions about your favorite TV shows, and TVLine’s got answers! Keep scrolling through our latest TVLine Answers column for scoop on “NCIS,” “Scrubs,” “Only Murders in the Building,” “Law & Order: SVU,” “Tracker,” and much more of what you’re watching.

Any chance “Scrubs” will finally bring back Dr. Bob Kelso in Season 2 of the revival? — Kelly

We brought your question to revival boss Aseem Batra — and while the door remains open to 86-year-old actor Ken Jenkins, it doesn’t sound like it will be happening in Season 2. “It has been logistically difficult,” Batra told TVLine, what with the revival filming in Vancouver, not Los Angeles. “We will keep trying, but we also respect where everybody is with their lives. Certainly, the offer is 100% always open if he’s able to make it work. And that’s true for so many folks…. But we’ll definitely have fun throwbacks to explore [in Season 2].” — Ryan Schwartz

What do I have to give you for some “Outlander: Blood of My Blood” spoilers? — Renee

Here you go, for free: I was able to watch screeners for the first four episodes of Season 2. They were all great, but Episode 3 — which airs this Friday (Starz, 8/7c) — was by far my favorite, thanks to a development inside Leoch that puts someone in charge who’s not usually in that position

    More scoop ahead…

I’m excited to see Jensen Ackles back on “Tracker”! Any chance Melissa Roxburgh or Wendy Crewson will return as Dory or Mary this season? — Jackie
Showrunner Elwood Reid tells TVLine that anything is possible. That said, Russell remains the priority when it comes to bringing Colter’s family back into the fold. “There are some other storylines with the mom that we left on the table that we are going to go back and revisit,” Reid reveals, though “we’re in no hurry to do that right now.” So while viewers may not see Roxburgh or Crewson back in the immediate future, Reid confirms that recurring guest star Brent Sexton will return in Season 4 (premiering Sunday, October 4, at 9:30 p.m.) as Keaton — and will potentially factor into a Hollywood-set episode that takes advantage of the CBS procedural’s move from Vancouver to Los Angeles. — R.S.

Your fall TV preview of “Doc” didn’t say much about Sonya. What’s coming up for her this season? — Natalie

A whole lot, Natalie. We’ve already seen Sonya and Amy clash a little in their roles as co-chief residents, and their dynamic will only get more complicated throughout Season 3 — professionally and personally. “Soon enough, Sonya will have a surprising personal secret and Amy will become an unlikely confidante,” co-showrunner Barbie Kligman divulges. “The ripple effects of that, their diverging styles, Amy’s struggles with how her brain is functioning, plus some turmoil with the new interns, will feed into a simmering conflict between them which becomes more pronounced as the season progresses.”

And that’s not all for Sonya. Although her new romance with TJ starts “in a very good place” this season, “balance takes on a whole new meaning” as they both dive into demanding roles at work, Kligman says. “And then, there’s something else that happens — that you’ll have to wait and see — but it’s pretty explosive and it remains to be seen if their bond is strong enough to withstand it.”

Any scoop on “Reggie Dinkins” Season 2? Will we see Reggie and Brina’s wedding? — Lisa

“We keep meaning to do that,” co-showrunner Sam Means says with a laugh of the engaged couple’s impending nuptials. “We keep talking about it. We thought we were maybe ending with the wedding” in Season 2 (premiering Monday, November 2, at 8:30 p.m.), but “now I think maybe we’re starting Season 3 with the wedding.” But “the wedding planning continues,” he adds

    Speaking of weddings…

Can you give us anything on Sarah and Seth’s wedding in “Boston Blue” Season 2? Will we actually see them get married? — Danielle
It certainly sounds like Maggie Lawson and Mike Vogel’s characters are headed down the aisle — though perhaps not without a few complications. “When people get engaged, that generally ends in a wedding,” co-showrunner Brandon Sonnier tells TVLine. “So I don’t think it’s spoiling anything to say that, yes, that’s what we’re moving toward.” As for when the nuptials will take place, Sonnier is keeping mum, but he does offer this intriguing tease: “As with most things in life, it doesn’t exactly go down the way it’s planned.” (Season 2 premieres Friday, October 9, at 10 p.m.) — R.S.

I really enjoyed Season 1 of “Stuart Fails to Save the Universe,” but why were the episodes so short? Any chance we could get longer episodes in Season 2? — Roger

As you may recall, the telepathy-themed Episode 7 clocked in at roughly 15 minutes, including main titles and credits — and stars John Ross Bowie and Brian Posehn told TVLine that the powers that be actually had to add a scene to reach that length. We addressed this with franchise co-creator Chuck Lorre during a more recent interview tied to the Season 1 finale, and he admitted, “We’re not looking at our wristwatch at all.”

“That’s one of the blessings about being in the streaming universe,” he explained. “There’s no real reason to stamp it with a certain time. The only thing that needs attention is: Does the story work? Is watching our characters eat shrubbery and vomit in their mouths funny? We thought so.” (Ergo, don’t expect “Stuart” to suddenly start churning out 30- or 45-minute episodes when the “Big Bang Theory” spin-off returns next year.)

Anything you can tease about Mike Flanagan’s upcoming “Carrie” series and how it might differ from the original movie? — Sammy

The eight-episode Prime Video adaptation (which drops as a binge Wednesday, October 7) adds lots of interesting layers to Carrie’s story, and the choices Flanagan makes definitely modernize the classic tale for 2026 — including a social media element that’s downright terrifying. While the religious foundation of Carrie’s relationship with her mother remains, Samantha Sloyan takes her character, Margaret White, to surprisingly new and twisted levels. And we can confirm that the ending is very different from the 1976 Brian De Palma film, but that’s all we can say. — Nick Caruso

    Plus…

What can you tell us about the new assistant district attorney on “Law & Order: SVU” this season, aside from the fact that Carisi doesn’t love him? — Ann

Assistant District Attorney Aidan Hawkins (played by Jelani Alladin, “Fellow Travelers”) has “got a pedigree, Harvard-educated, well-off family, and he’s not there to make his career SVU,” showrunner Michele Fazekas tells us, adding that his plan is to “be there for a couple of years, put away some bad guys, and then probably be a politician — a little JFK Jr.” But that doesn’t mean he’s not dedicated, nor that he doesn’t know what he’s doing. “He just doesn’t treat it like it’s his entire life, which in some ways is a much healthier way to deal with” the work,” she adds. “What I like about him is that he somewhat challenges Carisi and challenges our people. He’s a nice energy.” (Season 28 premieres Thursday, October 8, at 9 p.m.) — K.R.

I’m even more excited for “Only Murders in the Building” Season 6 after reading your fall preview. But I have a question: Will Paul Rudd be back? — Jamie

Oh, don’t think we didn’t press co-creator John Hoffman on this one when we had him on Zoom mere hours after production on the U.K.-set Season 6 (premiering Tuesday, December 8) wrapped in late August. Last fall, it was TVLine that had the scoop on Rudd’s top-secret, voice-only role as the Arconia’s robot doorman in Season 5. As for whether Hoffman has found a fourth role for Rudd in “Only Murders in London” — after Ben Glenroy, Glen Stubbins, and L.E.S.T.R. — the EP answered: “I will only say that it is never out of my mind, and you are on my shoulder, particularly with this question… and I was conscious of it in this season, as well.” Make of that what you will… but it’s not a no. — R.S.

Got any “NCIS” tidbits, aside from DiNozzo’s return? — Shari

We do, actually, thanks for asking. In Season 24’s third episode (airing Tuesday, October 20, at 8 p.m.), we find out that Nick Torres has a mentor, played by Mike O’Malley, a la Gibbs and Mike Franks, showrunner Steven D. Binder reveals: “We’re gonna meet Torres’ Mike Franks character, one of his old handlers,” and “potentially he’s going to get Torres involved in some undercover work down the road.” But he’s “not the most by-the-book guy,” Binder warns, so “hilarity will ensue.” — D.N.

    Last but not least…

Can you share anything about the upcoming “Elsbeth” season? — KerryPrepare for more tension between Wendell Pierce’s Capt. Wagner and Campbell Scott’s Commissioner Tully in Season 4 (premiering Thursday, October 8, at 9 p.m.). As showrunner Jonathan Tolins tells us, the long rivalry between the two men “will continue with some big, dramatic turns. Tully has power over Wagner now, and he’s not afraid to use it.” (We’re guessing it’s not just budget cuts this time.)

I’m so excited for the new season of “Dexter: Resurrection,” and I love that Dan Stevens is joining the show. But isn’t his character basically the Zodiac Killer? — Julie

While Stevens’ Five Borough Killer will taunt police much like the Zodiac did in the San Francisco Bay area in the late ’60s, showrunner Clyde Phillips assures us that the similarities were not intentional. “It just happened to turn out that way,” the “Dexter” boss tells TVLine. “We came up with this in the writers’ room in L.A. Then, somebody in the room said, ‘You know, that’s not dissimilar to Zodiac,’ and I said, ‘Then it’s our obligation to make it our own,’ and that’s what we’ve done. We didn’t sit down in the room and say, ‘Hey, let’s do the Zodiac Killer.'” As for how Dexter’s path will first cross with Stevens’ serial killer? Those details remain under wraps. (Season 2 premieres Friday, October 30, on Paramount+.) — N.C.
