ARVORE has revealed that its adaptation of The Boys is coming to VR, with cast members from the TV show lending their voices.
Brazil-based ARVORE, the studio behind the Pixel Ripped series, is partnering with Sony Pictures Virtual Reality as the publisher of a “stealth-action” VR game coming in 2026. The Boys is set to air its final season on Amazon next year, but Amazon appears to be involved in the VR project only as a producer on the show.
I’m getting a Five Nights At Freddy’s meets BioShock vibe from the release trailer. The theme park ride setting is shown in a pre-rendered section before we meet Homelander. The developers say the game “features an original character who accidentally uncovers the grotesque secrets of Vought, and a family outing turns into a massacre. Forced to become a super, players join The Boys to infiltrate Vought and exact revenge in the most chaotic way possible. Blending stealth, combat, and the series’ signature dark humor, this VR title delivers a new story rooted in the world fans love.”
The full announcement trailer is embedded below, and we’ve cut something like the available gameplay video above. Actors including Laz Alonso (Mother’s Milk), Colby Minifie (Ashley Barrett) and PJ Byrne (Adam Burke) will reprise their roles as Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy in a “twisted interpretation”.
We want to try out trigger warnings in action as soon as possible. With Stranger Things VR released, Deadpool VR out, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming soon, there’s a wide tonal range when it comes to adapting TV and movies to VR, and it will be interesting to see where ARVORE lands in terms of representing The Boys.
Wishlists and pre-orders are available on the PlayStation Store and Quest.
