Ramy – season 1-3

First-generation Egyptian-American Ramy Hassan is on a spiritual journey in his politically divided New Jersey neighbourhood. Caught between the Muslim community who believes life is a moral test and a millenial generation that believes life has no consequences, he’s still determined to do the things most 20-somethings do, like date. Constantly caught between praying on Fridays and going to late night parties, which side will win out in this seemingly endless internal battle?

Juliet – season 2

In season 2, Chief Inspector Juliet Dumon (Charlotte De Bruyne) is once again faced with complex murder cases in De Haan. Whilst she throws herself into every new investigation, she tries to balance her demanding job with her role as foster parent to her niece Chloë (Amber Naert). Juliet thinks everything is going swimmingly between her and Chloë, but Chloë is keeping something from her. The longer Chloë remains silent, the harder it becomes for her to come clean.

Things aren’t running smoothly at work either. Jamal questions Juliet’s rather brusque manner with suspects, whilst Juliet, in turn, criticises Jamal’s softer approach. It threatens to become a festering conflict that is bound to erupt at some point. As if that weren’t enough, someone also bursts into her life who puts her vision of the future to the test. Juliet is faced with choices that could well turn her life upside down.

Alone USA – season 12

Everybody Loves Horses

Everybody Loves Horses is a romantic TV series with a touch of humour that follows the unexpected connection between Krunka, a 48-year-old Icelandic horse farmer, and Oskari, a 55-year-old Finnish tourist, during a four-day riding trip in the Icelandic countryside.

Krunka’s life revolves around her farm, her family, and especially her horses. Despite her estranged relationship with her husband, Valdi, she continues to work with him to keep the farm running and providing stability for her 17-year-old son, Stigur. Divorce would mean losing the family farm, so she endures Valdi and his unexpected behaviour.

Oskari joins the riding trip to celebrate the 50th birthday of his close friend Kaisa. As Krunka and Oskari spend more time together, an interest begins to form between them. However, Krunka is torn between her growing feelings for Oskari and her principles. She will not fall for a tourist.

A Sami Wedding

In the small Sami town of Kautokeino, Garen is at the bottom of the social ladder. Trapped in a loveless marriage, she pours her energy into helping her unappreciative family.

When her son is to marry into a wealthy reindeer-herding family, Garen sees a chance to lift her status by arranging the perfect wedding. Traditional Sami weddings require the groom’s family to take on all aspects of the festive organisation and Garen must recruit her siblings: the gay artist Henry who hates everything Sami, the outspoken addict Belle and the village fuckboy Johan.

The whole of Kautokeino watches while the dysfunctional siblings arrange a wedding in record time. What can go wrong? Everything!
