Tom Brady has kept busy away from the football field since retiring, building a career as an NFL analyst and a strong business portfolio.

One of his biggest ventures has been CardVault, the sports collectibles retailer he joined in February 2025 by acquiring a 50% stake. The company was subsequently renamed CardVault by Tom Brady.

The business has expanded rapidly since Brady’s arrival. What began with three stores has grown into a national operation, with CardVault now at 17 locations and targeting more than 100 in the long term. Its expansion has included locations in major sports markets such as Chicago, Dallas, Las Vegas, San Francisco and New York.

The former New England Patriots quarterback revealed Thursday that the company has added a heavyweight group of strategic investors as it prepares for its next stage of growth.

The group includes Jay-Z, RedBird Capital founder Gerry Cardinale, Silver Lake co-CEOs Egon Durban and Greg Mondre, New York Yankees star Aaron Judge, Connor McDavid, Boston Celtics co-owner Wyc Grousbeck, Fenway Sports Group principal owner John Henry and Raising Cane’s founder Todd Graves, among others.

The investment will help CardVault expand its physical footprint while also developing automated retail, technology, supply-chain operations and digital commerce. The goal is to make collecting more accessible while creating a larger presence beyond its existing stores.

Brady’s involvement has helped give the company a unique connection to the sports world. The seven-time Super Bowl champion has long described sports cards and collectibles as a personal passion, and his ownership has turned that interest into a growing business.

With 17 locations already operating, CardVault now has an ambitious target ahead: 100-plus stores as Brady and the new investor group look to accelerate the company’s growth.
