Okay before coming to the review, can we talk about the title?
Hello, I Am a Witch, and My Crush Wants Me to Make a Love Potion!
Yes, that’s actually the title, and honestly, it tells you almost everything you need to know about the plot. But trust me, there’s so much more to love about this adorable little fall romance anime.
If you’re someone who loves witches, magical forests, cozy cottages, a little bit of romance, and those wholesome moments between couples that make you giggle for absolutely no reason, this one is definitely for you! Keep on reading because you are gonna love this.
A Witch, a Knight, and One Very Awkward Love Potion!
Our story starts with introducing our main heroine Rose, described as a lonely witch who lives away from everyone, spending her days making potions and she loves it just like her grandma.
And like every good romance, there’s someone she secretly likes. Unfortunately for her, that someone happens to be a knight named Harij.
Well, witches don’t have a good reputation in any era for sure. So, it’s pretty hard to approach your crush as the only witch in the area.
Now imagine having a crush on someone of a far higher status than you, only for them to show up at your doorstep asking you to make a love potion. Yes, shocking, I know.
FOR SOMEONE ELSE?! Yes, we will definitely feel envy of that other person.
I mean, how is our poor witch supposed to survive that?! What follows is a series of adorable, awkward, and sometimes hilarious interactions between our witch and knight.
And believe me, watching their relationship slowly develop is probably one of the sweetest parts of the story. Other than a cozy atmospheric environment.
The Cozy Witchy Atmosphere Is Everything!
One of my favorite things about this story is its atmosphere, like I mentioned before.
There’s something incredibly comforting about a witch living in a secluded little home, surrounded by nature, magical ingredients, and potions.
It has that soft fantasy feeling that makes you want to curl up under a blanket with a warm cup of tea or coffee whatever you like.
And if you’re someone who loves autumn, witches, and cozy fantasy aesthetics, you’ll understand exactly what I mean.
It doesn’t have grand magical battles or saving the entire world type of premise and if you are looking for that please skip this one. It’s all about little magical moments, a quiet setting, and two people slowly falling in love. But will they fall in love? Well that’s the question.
And now can We Talk About Rose and Harij?!
Rose is honestly such an adorable character! She’s awkward, shy, and completely hopeless when it comes to her feelings, a lot of us could relate to this. And that’s exactly what makes her so lovable.
Then there’s Harij, who might seem a little hard to understand at first, but his efforts for Rose make the romance even more enjoyable. His little gesture of care for her is just everything trust me.
Their relationship isn’t filled with dramatic love confessions every five minutes.
Instead, it’s those tiny moments, little misunderstandings, and unexpected gestures that make you smile like an idiot. And honestly? I’m here for all of it! and I bet you will enjoy it too.
Final Thoughts:
I’m just loving the weekly ongoing drop of new episodes.
So, if you’re in the mood for a cozy fantasy romance, give this one a try!
And tell me, would you make a love potion for your crush if they asked you to?
