The reason why season 2 of the Disney+ original series “Made in Korea” left a heavy aftertaste is being re-examined.

“Made in Korea 2,” which ended with the 5th and 6th episodes on the 23rd, received hot attention depicting the power vacuum after the reign of former President Park Chung-hee and the relentless ambition of Baek Ki-tae (Hyun Bin), which has continued since season 1.

However, there are mixed reactions online about Baek Ki-tae, the main character, being shot by his younger brother Baek Ki-hyun (Woo Do-hwan), who is neither prosecutor Jang Geon-young nor influential figure in the new military.

Some are complaining bitterly about it, calling it a ‘pseudo-mi’.

However, if you look behind the harsh criticism, the counterargument that this vain ending is the most dreadful and realistic reality that the work wanted to penetrate is gaining strength.

This is because even the main character, who was shaking the board with a meticulous res nature of power and the great whirlwind of history, he was only a human crumb

Instead of choosing an easy escape such as a pleasant relationship or a heroic happy ending, it has a heavy value in that it has dug into the bones the mechanism of tragedy caused by the violence of the times.

Instead of the success myth of vicarious satisfaction tailored to the tastes of viewers, the production team chose a catastrophe in which the monster of power swallows itself.

This is why we see again the meaning of the cool pleasure and realistic judgment left by this ending despite the disappointing voice.
