The Pitt star Noah Wyle and his wife, Sara (Wells) Wyle, are mourning a heartbreaking family loss: the death of their beloved dog, Lily.
On the evening of Sunday, October 18, Sara, 46, announced the sad news in a joint Instagram post with her husband, 55.
“Our sweet girl left us today,” she captioned the update, which featured a carousel of photos of their pet and blue heart emojis. “We are devastated. It was unexpected.”
To conclude the post, Sara shared, “She was our beautiful California Brown Bear, and there is/was no one like her. Hug your fur babies tight.”
The featured image showed Sara holding the dog on her lap as a puppy. Other snapshots showed the canine through the years, with one showing Noah petting her. Sara also included a short clip of the pooch lying on her back asking for belly rubs. “I just want to be this dog in my next life,” she declared in the video.

In the comments, Sara and Noah’s followers flooded them with prayers and condolences. One Instagram user wrote, “So sorry for your loss. Grieving a dog is so hard. No human comes close to a dog’s unconditional love. Rest in peace, sweet chocolate drop .”
Another shared, “Our thoughts and prayers are with you.”
Someone else echoed, “Losing a pet unexpectedly is the actual worst thing in life. I know she was so loved and she is so missed. Thinking of y’all during this terrible time.”
A different follower commented, “They come into our homes and hearts, and when they leave, it’s heartbreaking. Prayers for peace and comfort for your family.”

Aside from their fur baby, Noah and Wyle — who married in 2014 — share a daughter, Frances, 11. The ER actor also shares a son, Owen, 23, and a daughter, Auden, 21, with his first wife, Tracy Warbin.
