Why Ted Lasso remains Apple TV+’s biggest success story
Ted Lasso was supposed to draw the curtain after the Season 3 finale in 2023. The season featured a bittersweet ending, which perfectly aligned with creator Jason Sudeikis’ vision for the show. However, Apple TV+ officially resurrected the show, greenlighting Season 4 in March 2025.
The Emmy-winning series has captured the hearts of millions around the globe with its heartfelt characters and uplifting storylines. Fans continue to show overwhelming support for the show as it begins a fresh chapter.
Coach Lasso returns to AFC Richmond in Season 4, but this time his focus is on the soccer club’s women’s team. Sudeikis reprises the titular role, alongside original cast members Juno Temple, Hannah Waddingham, Jeremy Swift, Brendan Hunt, and Brett Goldstein. However, the beloved players from the men’s team are not expected to make an appearance.
The new season shifts focus toward the women’s roster, introducing Tanya Reynolds as assistant coach Alice Chilton alongside Jude Mack, Abbie Hern, Faye Marsay, and Aisling Sharkey as the Lady Greyhounds.
Ted Lasso Season 4 streams new episodes every Wednesday through October 7, 2026.
