Ted Lasso Season 4 Just Broke a Huge Streaming Record for Apple TV
    • Ted Lasso Season 4 premiere garnered 296.6 million viewing minutes in the U.S. within the first two days, making it Apple TV’s biggest launch ever.
    • The new season focuses on Coach Lasso leading AFC Richmond’s women’s team, with original cast members returning and new characters introduced.
    • Despite originally planning to end after Season 3, the Emmy-winning series has been revived and continues to receive overwhelming support from fans worldwide.

Ted LassoSeason 4 is off to an incredible start, breaking a major streaming record. The much-awaited series has exceeded all expectations with its recent Apple TV premiere on August 5, 2026.

According to Nielsen data provided by Apple on Thursday, the debut episode of Ted Lasso Season 4 amassed 296.6 million viewing minutes in the U.S. within the first two days of its release. The episode became the most-streamed program in the U.S. on August 5, drawing over 200 million viewing minutes, per Deadline.

Furthermore, Apple says that the premiere now holds the record for Apple TV’s biggest launch ever. It remains to be seen whether Episode 1’s soaring views will place Ted Lasso in Nielsen’s streaming Top 10 for the week.

The series will likely still make the list, since the ranking does not distinguish between seasons. Fans who re-watch older episodes will contribute to the views as well.

Why Ted Lasso remains Apple TV+’s biggest success story

Ted Lasso was supposed to draw the curtain after the Season 3 finale in 2023. The season featured a bittersweet ending, which perfectly aligned with creator Jason Sudeikis’ vision for the show. However, Apple TV+ officially resurrected the show, greenlighting Season 4 in March 2025.

The Emmy-winning series has captured the hearts of millions around the globe with its heartfelt characters and uplifting storylines. Fans continue to show overwhelming support for the show as it begins a fresh chapter.

Coach Lasso returns to AFC Richmond in Season 4, but this time his focus is on the soccer club’s women’s team. Sudeikis reprises the titular role, alongside original cast members Juno Temple, Hannah Waddingham, Jeremy Swift, Brendan Hunt, and Brett Goldstein. However, the beloved players from the men’s team are not expected to make an appearance.

The new season shifts focus toward the women’s roster, introducing Tanya Reynolds as assistant coach Alice Chilton alongside Jude Mack, Abbie Hern, Faye Marsay, and Aisling Sharkey as the Lady Greyhounds.

Ted Lasso Season 4 streams new episodes every Wednesday through October 7, 2026.
