Polygon Pictures has unveiled a new trailer for Tank Chair, giving audiences their clearest look yet at the upcoming anime based on Yashiro’s manga. The series follows Nagi Taira, a legendary assassin who falls into a coma after protecting his younger sister Shizuka from a barrage of gunfire. His recovery comes with an unusual condition: Nagi can only awaken when someone directs murderous intent toward him.

Shizuka therefore takes an extreme approach to rehabilitation. She begins dragging her unconscious brother into battles against increasingly dangerous opponents, hoping that the threat of death will trigger his return to consciousness. The trailer turns that premise into a barrage of kinetic action, with Nagi’s specialised wheelchair functioning as both his means of transport and a weapon built for combat.

The anime comes from Polygon Pictures, the Japanese CG animation studio behind projects including Knights of Sidonia and Ajin: Demi-Human. The studio has described the adaptation as a blend of high-intensity action and a distinctive pop aesthetic, with Masaru Yokoyama composing the music.

Tadahiro “Tady” Yoshihira serves as director, series composer and screenwriter alongside Hiroaki Ando, who also directs and writes. Yuki Moriyama is handling character design, while Polygon Pictures is producing the animation.

The principal cast includes Kouki Uchiyama as Nagi Taira, Minori Fujidera as Shizuka, Gakuto Kajiwara as Naozumi Kurosaka and Saori Hayami as Touko Kurosaka. Naozumi is Nagi’s former classmate and a determined rival, while Touko fights alongside her brother.

The manga has already surpassed one million copies in circulation and continues to run in Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Sirius. Its anime adaptation is scheduled to begin broadcasting in October 2026, with the latest promotional material also confirming theme songs by SiM and Daoko.

Tank Chair is shaping up as one of the stranger action premises in this year’s anime lineup, built around a comatose assassin whose path back to consciousness involves being wheeled directly into increasingly lethal fights. The trailer makes clear that the series intends to lean fully into that absurd setup.
