Wonder Man, the Disney+ series starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Ben Kingsley, has been cancelled, despite the streaming service picking up a second season of the show.

“Wonder Woman” star Lynda Carter spoke with Fox News Digital alongside Rep. Nicole Malliotakis, R-N.Y., about the bipartisan effort to build the Smithsonian American Women’s History Museum.

Disney+ will no longer proceed with a second season of Marvel’s Wonder Man, reversing the renewal announced earlier this year. The streamer confirmed in March that Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Ben Kingsley would return, but the series will now end after one season. 

As you’ve no doubt been made privy to by now, the series, co-created by Spider-Man: Brand New Day director Destin Daniel Cretton, was revealed this week to not be returning to Disney+ despite the Powers That Be having previously handed it a Season 2 renewal.

Wonder ManSeason 2’s cancellation has sparked concerns about MCU shows on Disney+. Recently, the studio canceled the series’ second installment, despite positive reviews and an Emmy Award for the lead. This has enraged Marvel fans who took to X to express their concerns over the trajectory of MCU shows.

Despite announcing earlier this year that Wonder Man would return for a second season, the studio is no longer moving forward with new episodes.
