KATHMANDU: The Embassy of Israel in Nepal organized and facilitated a visit by three prominent Israeli caricaturists—Nissim Hezkiyau (Nusko), Prof. Itamar Daube and Uri Fink—to Nepal from September 28 to 30 as part of an artistic and cultural exchange initiative between Israel and Nepal.
According to news agencies, the disaster, which was triggered by an avalanche and rock slide in the Himalayas, has claimed at least 1,400 lives. More than 6,000 people are still missing.
Amitabh Bachchan’s Raksha Bandhan message for his fans also carried prayers for those affected by the devastating floods in Nepal. The megastar, who shared a picture of his wrist covered with colourful rakhis in his latest blog, spoke about the bond between brothers and sisters before speaking about the situation in Nepal.
