Grab the Keyblade because after more than two decades of games,Kingdom Hearts is finally making the jump to television. Disney announced at D23 that aKingdom Hearts TV series is coming to Disney+ and Disney Channel, bringing the fan-favorite world created by Disney and Square Enix to the small screen with an original anime story.
The second season of Lucasfilm’s “Star Wars” series “Ahsoka” will premiere Jan. 20, 2027, exclusively on Disney+. The announcement came Aug. 14 during the Disney Entertainment Showcase at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif., as part of D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event.

Disney just greenlit a Kingdom Hearts anime for Disney Channel and Disney+. The company’s D23 post calls it the first original TV series from the game franchise. The working title is simply Kingdom Hearts. However, Disney did not name a premiere date.
