My experience at BlizzCon kicked off with a rush of wind. In the cavelike darkness of the main hall, illuminated only by screens displaying iconic Blizzard characters, media sat in our designated corner of the audience, waiting for other attendees to be let in. 

BlizzCon borrowed a page from the biggest event in American sports for its 2026 return. The gaming convention staged its first-ever esports halftime show during the Overwatch World Cup, with Japanese pop duo YOASOBI leading a weekend that also brought Simu Liu, T-Pain, deadmau5, and other celebrity guests to Anaheim.

Community Night at BlizzCon 2026 is officially in the books! This year’s event was an incredible celebration of the creativity and spirit that make the Blizzard community so special. Congratulations to everyone who participated, and to this year’s winners!

Arguably Blizzard’s worst-kept secret was the upcoming open-world shooter game set in the Starcraft universe. Titled simply Starcraft, not Starcraft: Ghost, indicating it’s not a resurrection of the project that was canceled in development a couple of decades ago.
