When the 20-year fandom of T.O.P, formerly of the group Big Bang, declared a “break,” the agency responded

T.O.P’s agency, TopSpot Pictures, on the 10th apologized, saying, “We are taking the opinions recently conveyed by fans very seriously. We deeply apologize for not sufficiently delivering activity news and communication to the fans who have waited, and for causing hurt and disappointment as a result.”

It went on to say in an official statement, “From now on we will listen more closely to the opinions you send and actively reflect them across the artist’s activities and overall management.”

It added, “We will also review how fans communicate and, once improvement measures are prepared, guide you through official channels,” and “We will visit you in a better form to repay the love you have shown the artist.”

Earlier that day, T.O.P’s 20-year fandom, Choi Seung-hyun dot com, announced the end of operations and said in a statement, “We have judged that we can no longer tolerate T.O.P and TopSpot Pictures’ ignoring of reality, evasion of responsibility, and attitude of treating fans’ devotion as something to be taken for granted.”

Choi Seung-hyun dot com criticized the issue, saying, “Despite being called an album for fans, the stage and communication that fans most wanted and waited for were insufficient,” and posted a lengthy statement saying, “Fans’ love and support are not something to be used when convenient and ignored when inconvenient.”

Below is the full statement from T.O.P’s agency.

    Hello.
    This is TopSpot Pictures.

First, we sincerely thank the fans who have cherished and supported T.O.P for a long time.

We are taking the opinions recently conveyed by fans very seriously.

We deeply apologize for not sufficiently delivering activity news and communication to the fans who have waited, and for causing hurt and disappointment as a result.

From now on we will listen more closely to the opinions you send and actively reflect them across the artist’s activities and overall management.

We will also review how we communicate with fans and, once improvement measures are prepared, notify you through official channels.

We will visit you in a better form to repay the love you have shown the artist.
