Super Smash Bros. Ultimate 13.0.5 update out now, patch notes

We’ve got news about another Nintendo game that’s received an update, and this time it’s Super Smash Bros. Ultimate going up to version 13.0.5.
We’ll mention right out of the gate that this is a small patch. Nintendo is addressing a singular bug involving invalid data from sent/received online battles.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate 13.0.5 update out now, patch notes
- Fixed behavior that occurs when invalid data is sent or received in online battles.
Note: There may be compatibility issues with replays from Ver. 9.0.0 to 13.0.4. Replays from Ver. 8.1.0 and earlier are not compatible. If you want to keep your replays, convert them into videos before installing the update. You can do this
Believe it or not, this is the first new patch for the game in over a year. Version 13.0.4 was released in June 2025. We have details on that one here,
Nintendo has spent the last couple of days going heavy on updates. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe just received a huge one of its own. Pikmin 3 received a pretty notable one as well – we covered it here. Mario Tennis Aces was also given a small patch, which you can read about here.
